The flying Dutchman is doomed to cross the world’s oceans forever. In order to win the love of a woman faithful to death and thus escape his curse, he returns to land every seven years. But his hope vanishes, he wishes death. Then he meets Daland and his crew, who, after seeing the treasures of the Dutchman, offers him his daughter Senta as his wife.
