The brio of Marsalis and his Orchestra ignites the musicians of Paris for this unforgettable event: the French premiere of his Concerto in D by the violinist for whom it was written, and his Jungle Symphony imbued with the immoderation of New York!
Peerless trumpetist and total artist Wynton Marsalis has led the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra to world renown. The ultimate ‘big band’ of the modern age, the ensemble embodies a blend of authenticity and creativity, festive tradition and commitment to excellence. Its collaboration here with the Orchestre de Paris produces the power and acoustic alchemy to fully realise the composer’s visions.

Jungle Symphony, an homage to the city of New York and its symphonic orchestra, which commissioned it, is a monumental score whose six movements blend jazz and blues with the great symphonic style. Performed by Nicola Benedetti and presented here for the first time in France, the Violin Concerto offers a thrilling mix of New Orleans jazz accents and the memory of Irish and Scottish ballads.
